  1. Roger L and Sharon M Mailand says:

My husband and I, Roger and Sharon Mailand, would like to send our greetings of love to St. Paul Lutheran Church and School. We were teachers in the school from the Fall of 1967 through February 1974. He taught grades 5-6 and departmentalized math in several grades. He also was the Athletic Director and Youth Director. I taught one year of that time and then we adopted our first son, Michael. In 1974 we moved to St. Michael, Portage, with Roger becoming the Minister of Christian Education and Youth. During this time, we adopted our second son, Joel. After 21 1/2 years in Portage, Roger accepted the position of Director of Youth and Family Life in the Missouri District Office in Saint Louis MO. I worked for 12 years in the Youth Ministry Office of the LCMS at Synod headquarters, retiring in 2008. Roger retired in 2009 and we moved to Seward NE, where we are active as volunteers in the community and at St. John Lutheran, Seward. We are rather new grandparents, as our grandsons, Micah will be 4 and Ethan will be 1 1/2 years in June.
May our Lord grant many wonderful blessings for a grand day and year of celebrating your 125th anniversary. We remember fondly coming back for your 100th….25 years ago already!!!!
