Women’s League has planned several events for October, and everyone is invited to participate. Put the dates on your calendar now!
October 24: Set up for the Rummage Sale, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Many helpers will be needed this day, as all the items have to be sorted and arranged to be ready for shoppers Thursday morning. Lunch will be provided for all helpers.
October 25-27: Rummage Sale. Thursday and Friday hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday hours are 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday will also be “Bag Day,” $4 for everything you can put into a paper grocery bag. Helpers are needed for all 3 days. Extra helpers will be needed on Saturday from 12 – 1:30 p.m. to pack up the leftovers, which will be picked up by a member of Disabled American Veterans. The distribution of money earned at the Rummage Sale will be decided at the October 30 meeting.
October 30: Women’s League meeting at 7 p.m. in the Lunch Room. Come and help make Thanksgiving and Christmas cards for congregation shut-ins.
Plan to come to any or all of these events to help with the work, as well as to enjoy food and fellowship with other members.
Are you using your Mite Box? We have more if you’ve lost yours, or turned it in and didn’t get another. Look in the basket by the big Mite Box in the Narthex. The mite goal for 2018-2020 is $300,000+. Grants that were chosen at the summer convention will be described in the bulletin for LWML Sunday. There’s an October Mite calendar included in the church’s October newsletter. Look for it, read it, and use it as a reminder to put coins in your Mite Box.
