Thanksgiving is the time to give thanks to our Lord for all that He has done for us. Psalm 95:1 – 2 says, “Come, let us sing to the Lord! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come to him with thanksgiving.”
As we celebrate this season of Thanksgiving let us remember those who are not able to celebrate like us due to their circumstances.
Will you prayerfully consider sponsoring a family in need so no one goes without a Thanksgiving meal this year?
Our ministry goal this year is to bless 15 or more families with turkeys and non-perishable food items so that they will enjoy a bountiful Thanksgiving Dinner. This is your invitation to make a difference on Thanksgiving and help your neighbors in need through a contribution to POBLO’s Thanksgiving basket program.
In addition to frozen turkeys or chickens, we encourage donations of stuffing, cranberry sauce, and canned vegetables. Items should not be in glass containers.
Donations from you are welcome at the POBLO main office at 35555 Garfield Road, Suite 7, Clinton Twp., MI 48035, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. If donations need to be dropped off at a different time, please call ahead at 586-477-1530.
What feast would be complete without all the trimmings? Below are some other items you can also donate to make our Thanksgiving Basket this year:
SOTC Family – our organ is in need of repairs. We as God’s children and members of Shadow of the Cross Lutheran Church are called to get it done. Please look in the back of your pews for the orange envelopes. Please put your donations to help repair the organ in that envelope and put the envelope in the offering basket in the Narthex. We thank you for your continued support!

The Little Free Library and the Little Free Pantry
in front of the church has been helping a lot of people in our neighborhood. If you are able to restock either one or both, please do.
Anyone in the community can donate or borrow books from the Little Free Library and donate or receive food from the Little Free Pantry.
You can help by setting aside some new or gently used books to put into the library, and adding a non-perishable pantry donation to your weekly shopping list. Suggestions for the pantry include canned goods, box cereal, small bags of rice, etc.
If you have any questions, contact Andrea Ballantine.
I am happy to share this Christian Education PowerPoint with everyone. This is an original education presentation created for my art high school students. I have modified it for the church family. I thought you might enjoy something a little different with studying Christianity. Enjoy! Margo Dupre
